Happy 2009!

I'm going to venture to state the obvious...I've been remiss in posting regularly. I am making a new year's resolution to be better about that. I figured I would start with a new layout and a new post to get on the right foot. I have a lot of painting ideas simmering in my head, as I am constantly reading, taking photos, letting things gel. I would really like to start working larger...a wonderful challenge. I also want to get back to the subject matter that appeals to me...organic shapes, especially. Come spring perhaps the plein air bug will bite me again but for now, winter precludes that. Here's to a year of happy painting! Cheers!

I have viewed your blog and I really like what I've seen thusfar. What you wrote on the 4th, encourage youself to put those ideas to action when you are ready. I'm all about doing what appeals to me, I quit doing anything else, why bother with anything else? On another note, I thought you were another Shannon playing a trick on me until I saw your blog. You both have a very similar look, and the same sense of humor. I am certain she was marathoning you-know-who over the holidays, too.

I like the new color.

Thanks, Tina! I pretty much adore House...great character, well-written and perfectly cast. Hugh Laurie makes the show in my mind.

Thanks for the advice...I think my trouble is that I am still trying new things to determine what I really enjoy painting. A smart artist I know said that an artist's style is determined more by what they cannot paint than what they can. I'm still finding that out, I suppose.

PS - Thanks, Miss Circe. I went for French Ultramarine Blue since it is my zen color.
