New Year, fresh start. Right? Since my hands and wrists are acting ugly there won't be a painting, but I thought I'd post something happy. For my watercolor friends, or for anyone who might like to try them, I recommend this:

I'm a big fan of Daniel Smith watercolors. This set of cards gives you a small sample of each of their paints so you can try them on your own! All you need is a good brush, fine watercolor paper, and a jar of water, and you're off!

I'm going to venture to state the obvious...I've been remiss in posting regularly. I am making a new year's resolution to be better about that. I figured I would start with a new layout and a new post to get on the right foot. I have a lot of painting ideas simmering in my head, as I am constantly reading, taking photos, letting things gel. I would really like to start working larger...a wonderful challenge. I also want to get back to the subject matter that appeals to me...organic shapes, especially. Come spring perhaps the plein air bug will bite me again but for now, winter precludes that. Here's to a year of happy painting! Cheers!
